Flower Varieties

Tulips

Tulips are Poplar Farm Flowers’ Number One Crop, where we are market leaders and at the forefront of modern growing techniques and husbandry. Our tulips are grown hydroponically on a bespoke benching system using the latest robotic technology and sustainable methods. Right here in Lincolnshire, we grow annually over 100 million, using over 40 different varieties giving a range of colours, available between October and June.

Peonies

For us, the blooms of peonies are the harbingers of summer. We extend the naturally short season with a carefully selected range of colourful flowers. From the scarlet of Red Charm to the bold elegance of Sara Bernardt, finishing with the late flowering Jacorma, our peonies are eagerly awaited at the end of May for their classically luxurious display.

Gladioli

Grown from the finest Dutch corms, this traditional summer flower blooms from July through to October. Tall, elegant spikes grow a spectrum of colours from white to yellow, orange and red and into deep purple.

Lilies

We grow both Oriental and LA lilies which are available from July to November, for both straight line and mixed bouquet work. Varieties are selected for their vibrant colours and long vase life.

Sunflowers

Nothing speaks of summer more than the sunflowers. Field grown and cropped to give maximum life in the home, our sunflowers are available from late June throughout the summer months. Uncropped flowers are left in the field until the autumn to provide food and cover for wild birds.

Ilex - coming soon

Andrew’s latest project and one that has been planned for many years, ilex, popularly known as holly, with its bright red berries, is synonymous with Christmas and festive bouquets.
